Modem?
Definition: A modem is a computer hardware device that converts data from a digital format into a format suitable for an analog transmission medium. A modem connects your office or home, usually through a cable connection to your internet service provider (ISP). A modem connects your Local Area Network (LAN) to a Wide Area Network (WAN), also known as the Internet.

Router?
Definition: A router is a hardware device that interfaces 2 networks and controls exchanges between those two networks. Routers are typically used to link an Ethernet network to a broadband internet connection; said differently, a Router provides WIFI and is typically connected to a modem.

Firewall?
Definition: A firewall is a network security device that monitors and filters incoming and outgoing network traffic based on an organization’s previously established security policies.

A firewall is the barrier between the public Internet and a private internal network.
